Created by the all-female and all-Asian team at Kwento Comics, The Mask of Haliya is the first of their comics that strives to bring Filipino and Asian mythology to a wider audience. The story is centered around a Filipino American teen named Marisol.

After the death of her great grandma Talia, Marisol finds a wooden mask that changes her life forever, setting her on a path toward battle with the Bakunawa, a giant serpent of Philippine myth. Issues 1 and 2 are readily available to readers, with more stories on the horizon from Kwento Comics.
